let me know if you benchmark this and find it is faster, currently, i load
about 600 entries (7 cols) and on a slow machine it takes 2/3 seconds...
potentially this number (600) will be upped... if it is faster, I might
implement it myself.

How do I improve the speed of GtkTreeView?
Lacking freeze or thaw, I found a neat way was to create a
second model
for the treeview, then switch the model to dummy one while
loading, then
switch back once you are finished. I haven't benchmarked
this in my app
as currently my parsers speed is the main limitation.

nash
