Hmm.  If this is to be popped up from an icon on a tool bar, could you
not create a popup window and populate it with a table of buttons or
something that would emulate this type of selection?  Or place more then
one menu in a hbox within the popup window?  Just a thought.  No idea
how practical any of this would be.
