Actually, there is a version of glib and gtk+ for Windows. They are
downloadable from http://www.gimp.org/~tml/gimp/win32
Although they are based on an early version of GTK+ 1.3, they are quite
compatible with GTK+ 1.2.x.
For what the Windows users are concerned, I think that they should be
required to use those libraries. So that they can have one more chance to
get in touch with the free software movement. Beside this, for 6 or 7 libraries
more to add to their system, they should not complain. Generally they
have as much libraries per application. Now, with that amount they will
be able to run nearly every existing GTK+ application...
