Selection clear event ?

Hi,

As said in http://www.gtk.org/tutorial/sec-supplyingtheselection.html,
I've implemented the selection_clear event, freeing my buffer. 
But It give me a buggy selection handling as my copy&paste 
is cleared between two windows of the same app (mine !!!).

I removed the callback, and now it's working well, even with other apps !?

Can somenone explains the point of this event ?
