the gsettings schemas must be installed even if you use the --enable-run-in-place option,
to do this you can just install the data directory:
I copied all the gthumb schemas from /opt/share/glib-2.0/schemas to
/usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas and recompiled the schemas.
Not gthumb 2.90.0 starts execution. I got the following messages:
Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "pk-gtk-module"
GLib-GIO-Message: Using the 'memory' GSettings backend. Your settings will not be saved
or shared with other applications.
Plus a lot of the following message:
Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_style_provider_get_style_property: assertion `g_type_is_a
(gtk_widget_path_get_object_type (path), pspec->owner_type)' failed
After trying out various things gThumb crashed with the following:
GLib-GIO-ERROR **: Settings schema 'org.gtk.Settings.FileChooser' is not installed
Trace/breakpoint trap
Making progress! It looks like I have to keep adding schemas.
