Where did this URL come from?

If you go to the GDK repo here: 
https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-development-kit/

and click on the README.md file, you get this URL:

https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-development-kit/-/blob/main/README.md

which works fine.

Why are you trying to use the Gitlab Development Kit? That is for 
developing the Gitlab code, not for using Gitlab as a repo.
