Re: Mac install issues with macports

This is more a macports question than a gnumeric one butI think you might have missed a step there. The one that the port program tells you about in the scroll you pasted below... :-)

sudo port selfupdate
sudo port upgrade outdated
sudo port install gnumeric.

Worked for me.

All the best

I get a glib2 failed due to upgrade to goffice failed (see log below).

Are there any known work-arounds for this situation to get gnumeric to install
on a macbook pro?

-------------
macbook-pro:~home sudo port selfupdate
Password:
--->   Updating the ports tree
---> Updating MacPorts base sources using rsync
MacPorts base version 1.9.2 installed,
MacPorts base version 1.9.2 downloaded.
---> MacPorts base is already the latest version

The ports tree has been updated. To upgrade your installed ports, you should
run
   port upgrade outdated
macbook-pro:~ home sudo port install gnumeric
--->   Computing dependencies for glib2
--->   Configuring glib2
Error: Target org.macports.configure returned: autoconf failure: shell command
failed (see log for details)
Log for glib2 is at:
/opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_devel_glib2/main.log
Error: Unable to upgrade port: 1
Error: Unable to execute port: upgrade goffice failed
