Question/moan 1 is: What's the point of --without-gtk --without-gnome if
I have to install most of the latest gnome anyhow?
You should not have to install any part of gnome. You will have to install
libraries like glib, but they certainly will not have to be the latest.
Question 2: Would I see the same improvements in Excel production if I
used Gnumeric 1.2 with a newer version of libgsf?
You will see all the improvements that relate to the container (OLE2) level, but
none relating to the contents.
