My system is pretty stable, otherwise.  I have just caught up on the updates, and will restart gnumeric 
(although it's up to date already) and reinstall if necessary.  I haven't used gnumeric since the last about 
late January/early February, but I haven't seen any of this since 1.0, and have used gnumeric for grades 
since before then.  

Meanwhile, this seems to be controllable by saving frequently.  

If necessary, I'll back out to 1.0.4.  

Gnumeric is getting alot better.  Noticed today, it's a bit slow to set column formats, involving opening up 
a menu, setting, and applying.  Of course, this is no worry at all.  I like that graphing is at least 
working, and I'll try to graph grades this time; in the past, I've used gnuplot.
