I've been using gnumeric for some time now for several
large spreadsheet projects. Overall, I love it. However,
there are several features which either are in gnumeric
already and I can't find or are not in it but would make
life MUCH easier.
1. Most of all, I would like to know how to disable
automatic recalculation of the spreadsheet after each cell
change is entered. This is HUGELY PAINFUL when working on a
large workbook. I'm thinking of something similar to the
Excel ability to disable automatic recalculation and to
choose iterative manual recalculation, including number of
iterations. I see that there is a Recalculate function in
gnumeric, but this doesn't seem to make much sense without
a way of disabling automatic recalculation. Am I missing
something here or is the feature just not present?
2. Having a format-painting tool similar to the paintbrush
(?) tool in Excel would be excellent. Basically something
to select the formatting of one or more cells and then
apply that formatting to other cells.
Any replies, particularly to 1. would be very much
appreciated
