hi there,
i just discovered importing text files into the spreadsheet.
previously, i was cutting and pasting tremendous files which look like:
-0.562309
-0.563139
-0.562552
-0.562451
-0.562355
-0.562862
-0.562747
-0.563190
-0.562001
-0.563216
-0.562037
-0.563009
-0.562486
-0.562704
-0.562929
etc, etc, etc.
two questions:
1. i notice the import happens in a new instance of gnumeric. that's
not a big problem since i can just cut and past the entire column into
the first instance of gnumeric, but it would be more convenient for the
import to happen in the first instance -- the one i'm working in.
2. importing numbers like this seems to destroy borders. any way of
making this a preference? or perhaps changing this behavior? when
importing stuff, we're usually importing into something already
formatted into tables, and it would be nice for the borders to stick
around so i don't have to redo them.
thanks!
pete
