Array formulae still broken

I submitted this as a bug report a while ago, and was told it was
temporarily broken in 0.65 or something.  The bug is still there in
0.70.

Entering

            1     2
       3    *     *
       4    *     *

in a sheet, and selecting the cells marked '*' and entering the formula

D4:E4*C5:C6             [D4 contains '1' and C5 '3' etc.]

and ctrl+shift+enter just gives #VALUE.  I expect to get

            1     2
       3    3     6
       4    4     8

which is what Excel does, for example.
