I use a web application that sends tab delimited text files to users, with
a mime type of application/vnd.ms-excel and an .xls extension. As a linux
user, I would really like to be able to configure gnumeric to
automatically open these files by configuring a helper application in my
browser.
Entering gnumeric with or without %s just opens gnumeric but it does not
attempt to load the data file into gnumeric. Is there some way to tell
gnumeric to attempt to open a file automatically on startup, if the file
is not already a gnumeric file? I wouldn't mind even having the text
import wizard open up that would then allow me to specify the format of
the file.
Excel is able to handle this operation very well, and I would like for
this to be possible with gnumeric.
