I find that gnumeric is not the most stable
Please report any and all instabilities to
1) bugzilla.gnome.org
2) This list
We are nearing feture completeness for a 1.0 release and should be
very stable at this point.
Supporting embedded newlines
Allowing M-Enter to add an embedded newline is probably simple, its
just a question of figuring out the trick to get GtkEntry to accept
it. However, replacing GtkEntry with something more complex capable
of supporting multiline display will take some time.
Editing in the cell rather than on the edit line.
This would be a nice feature to add but we have not looked at it.
The current item-edit code will hopefully be replaced by pango and
support for editing will be added then. It does not seem worth
while doing to much work on it until then.
Cell content limited to 2k
Gnumeric has no limits of that form. GtkEntry has a 2k limit.
Hopefully as we transition to gnome 2.0 it will be removed.
Crashing xls files
Please mail them directly to me. Do not pass go. We have a test
suite of several hundred files and we can load all of them without
crashing. Some features are disabled, but none crash. I can keep
your samples confidential if required, but _please_ send them to me.
XL import should be absolutely rock solid.
thanks for the feedback
Jody
