Re: [GnomeMeeting-list] Sound and Video Issues. Multiple ekiga instances

SOUND

Both of us could use 500 ekiga net but still could not connect yet I could connect from other locations.  I tested the NAT connection and got a Cone NAT result so accepted a STUN server but still we could not connect.  I have just opened all ports on my router and finally we made a connection.  I am now restricting the ports to the FAQ listing to confirm that is all that is needed.  Not sure why STUN did not manage it but possibly my internet provider is the reason?

VIDEO

Thanks to George Boyd!  Removed PWC that Suse had installed.  Installed from source making sure the active kernel and source codes matched versions.  Then, with all the ports open above, it half worked.  Had a sound card problem message so installed latest version of ALSA and suddenly everything worked.  The importance of getting the right versions to work together for the version of linux cannot be understated!

MULTIPLE INSTANCES

I realise that I cannot do a call until the other end hangs up but this does not explain why sometimes I trap two or more instances of ekiga in the process list if I try to move to the next call too quickly.

This trapping requires me to stop and restart ekiga to get it to run again.  Is there no solution to this?

If 500 ekiga net is working correctly, the problem is on his side.

You can not do a call until the other one is properly hangup.
