Do you mean that not killing artsd hangs GM, and that it actually
crashes your camera?

There are 2 bugs :
- GnomeMeeting shouldn't hang, it should just report that the device is
busy (that bug has been fixed in CVS).
- The camera shouldn't crash your machine in that case, but that is a
camera driver bug.
