Hi!

I read the whole thread, but that is nearly the same I tried yet. I got
gconf-editor to change the color format, but the druide and GM at
startup still complains about YUV420P, regardless to the format I
entered with gconf/gconf-editor. what do I have to do so that my changes
take effect?

As values I used the list published here. The supported formats checked
I with v4l-info:

"8 bpp, gray"
"8 bpp, dithered color"
"15 bpp RGB, le"
"15 bpp RGB, be"
"16 bpp RGB, le"
"16 bpp RGB, be"
"24 bpp RGB, le"
"32 bpp RGB, le"
"32 bpp RGB, be"
"4:2:2, packed, YUYV"
"4:2:2, packed, YUYV"
"4:2:2, packed, UYVY"
"4:2:2, planar, Y-Cb-Cr"
"4:2:0, planar, Y-Cb-Cr"
"4:2:0, planar, Y-Cr-Cb"
"4:1:1, planar, Y-Cb-Cr"
"4:1:0, planar, Y-Cb-Cr"
"4:1:0, planar, Y-Cr-Cb"

As you can see, YUV420P is not supported, because AFAIK that would be
"4:2:0, planar, UYVY".

The problem is that I can't tell whether it works when the changes
obviously don't take effect.
