I run Gnomemeeting 0.94.1on SuSE 8 Pro with a Philips ToUCam Pro webcam. I
had the same problem you have. Try this as root, & keep the /dev settings
you have:
modprobe snd-mixer-oss
modprobe snd-pcm-oss
rmmod snd-usb-audio
modprobe audio
It worked for me. Hope it works for you.
