Just refusing to add support for Compiz to Gnome is plain politics and

Just because some stop-gap measure works better in the short term
doesn't mean it's what you should do.

I'm ok with that. It would maybe make the code a little bit messy but
that should not really be an big issue. It is still cleaner than
forcing distributions to maintain patches for that.

To me that seems like a waste of our resources. I got the impression
that distros are going to patch it up, anyway (Ubuntu this, Fedora
that), and just patching in the entire tab seems to be both cleaner
and easier to maintain patch-wise. I'd rather do nothing at all than
try to support both.
