Any comments before I get this committed?
Absolutely agree, but we're going to have to think carefully about the
value of this capplet now that it will only have 3 options on it. We can
either try and move the options to somewhere else, or add some new
options. Icons in buttons springs to mind as an option people may find
useful, and fits nicely next to the icons in menus option.
One word. Appearance.
We all eagerly await your suggestions.
However, it would be nicer to improve the status quo without major UI
changes in the 2.x branch. I think we can safely and easily improve the
Menus & Toolbars capplet by removing the detachable toolbar option, and
adding two new options: "Icons in buttons" and "Toolbar/Menu Icon Size".
Both of these can be useful and helpful, especially for people with
sight impairments (going back to your earlier point about not isolating
accessibility options).
Regards,
Thomas
