Re: Web work volunteers.

Following on from Joakim's lead, my name is Michael Davies, I get paid to write
software and have for 9 years, but not paid to write free software (hopefully
one day :-) Web wise I write mostly internal web pages to document stuff. Why
then do I want to be involved with the web project? It's something I can do on
the side, and maintaining and improving what's aleady there is a good way to
contribute if you don't have oodles of time. It's also an opportunity to learn.

I'm no graphic designer, but I know what looks good. I can author graphics but
takes me too long as I'm a perfectionist :-) I can probably contribute best in
scripting - PHP/perl/python etc. I know postgres fairly well, and am coming up
to speed with MySQL as I try to finish off my first contribution to the existing
web site - updating the developers page to be dynamically generated from
PHP/SQL.

I'm a linux zealot and a GNOME-convert who is willing to help anywhere, but is
often short of time.
