There was a similar issue for SAM-QFS (samfs) and I fixed it by adding
an entry for the file system in gnome-vfs code.

May be adding an entry for cifs in
gnome-vfs/libgnomevfs/gnome-vfs-filesystem-type.c code is the solution.

Note that similar file system "smbfs" already has an entry in that file.
