Hey!

Happy to hear that =)
For Nautilus I have already strong potential students... so it's a little difficult to get a slot there.
Would you be interested in gnome-shell? We are still figuring out the task to do, but we will have for sure =)
Take a look at wiki.gnome.org/GnomeLove to build the Gnome stack and find some bug you would like to fix
in gnome-shell.

You can find generic instructions about applying as a student for GNOME
on https://wiki.gnome.org/Outreach/SummerOfCode/Students
Once you are in touch with potential mentors for this project, they
should be able to give you more specifics about their expectations (and
Carlos is indeed the right person to contact now ;)

Hope that helps, and let us know if you have more questions about this
:)
