Hey folks :)
It's GUADEC time and right now, it totally rocks. In this moment I'm
sitting in a beanbag just outside the university and in front of the
water with a perfectly working wireless.
There's is not so much to tell about the last week as I have arrived in
Istanbul on friday. But I received help for that mysterious bonobo, dbus
or gconf issue, where I received an error like:
GConf Error: Failed to contact configuration server; some possible
causes are that you need to enable TCP/IP networking for ORBit, or you
have stale NFS locks due to a system crash. See
http://www.gnome.org/projects/gconf/ for information. (Details - 1:
Could not send message to gconf daemon: The name org.gnome.GConf was not
provided by any .service files)
Turns out, that I've built a new gconf which has been d-bus-ified. My
environment, however, didn't start that gconf d-bus service
automatically, so that I had to do that on my own. Just after starting
it, everything worked :)
So, the next week I don't expect much progress in coding, but lots of
interesting discussions.
Cheers,
Tobi
