I must admit I am fed up with reading about power off suspend etc. The thing with Linux is choice, there is always choice! just as some enterprising person created an extension that allows the possibility to shutdown the computer! Having to Wade through a mailing list of useless rants to find useful information totally defeats its purpose! If you want to complain or are unhappy then do something like educate yourself and choose something that you will be happy with there are many flavours and options in the Linux community because everyone has different needs and wants. But please find a forum start a thread and do your unconstructive complaining elsewhere!!!
Hi, the debate is not according to what you think, it is for the average users, so we do not need receiving phone calls more than ten times on just how to turn off their computers. The people on this list obviously knows how to turn off and find/install the extensions needed go to google and find solution. We complain not for our _own_ interests, if you do believe this, you have not read the list/bug at all, as Owen stated, it is also applicable for you to refer to this bug: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=643457 and in this list as it was already discussed in length. I hope for this to come out @ 3.2 release as default.

Allan
