The chat events not marking as read is a bug that we couldn't fix in time for 3.0. Basically, we were sneaking behind Empathy's back, doing things we weren't supposed to, like sending replies. Cassidy is working on fixing all of this here: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=643594

looking forward to seeing this in the main code :) maybe in 3.2?

I hacked up a simple implementation here: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=649356

looks pretty :) now if only this could be pinned, so it was always visible, even if the notification bar is hidden.

 

 

What distro are you using?
 

fedora 15 rc at the moment. this distro seems to be working best togeather with gnome3 and gnome-shell, so i stayd with this (after trying ubuntu 11.04 + gnome3 ppa and opensuse 11.4 + gnome3 repo)
