Stop this right now please.

You're basing your judgement of GNOME on a message from a GNOME shell
user.

What was nicely asked is not to have a huge thread about a topic which
has been discussed many times before. The arguments are known so having
such discussions again is not helpful.

Some things are in the planning, but those answers (which have been
given multiple times) are lost amongst the 100+ of repeat discussion
messages.
