sure. it is dangerously buggy (i.e. it is easy to miss notifications #641723).
i find it very distracting and annoying (#647627, #648376, #649028),
especially on a netbook screen. can i switch it off? if not at the moment,
then would be a patch with appropriate configuration option accepted?
