I prefer the first mockup of the system monitor
The weather applet is too crowded. One of the nice things about your original work is the spacing and the use of different font sizes/colours, much easier to read.

@John, I just redraw a user interface for some applets. Concky is an outside program of Gnome. The system monitor applet is simple, if we want a better level of monitoring, Concky will be perfect.

Have you thought of using conky for this kind of thing. It is already done and there are lots of people who have contributed configs for this. Check out
http://conky.linux-hardcore.com/ for some examples.

I like your system monitor one as it seems good for the regular user. I can't help but whine that I can't have my own system monitor back since I tend to have the memory/cpu/network monitors which have proven invaluable when something is wrong with the system since i see a sea of red because network traffic hit the roof or cpu is pegged. I'm hoping to learn some _javascript_ and write one for myself.
Is there _javascript_ bindings for libgtop?

Hi everybody
According to some mails, and if I understand them well
Help in design is needed in order to integrate the gnome2 applets in Gnome-Shell.
http://live.gnome.org/GnomeShell/Design/Whiteboards/Gizmos
I am not a really a pro on Inkscape but I built a mockup for a system monitor applet here:

For now we can display many screens in the panel and see all in the same time.
I choose a menu in order to group all the indicators in one place, like for the power menu.
Tell me if I don't take the good way for this try.
And If you give me more instructions, I can work on other applet design on my free time.
Kind Regards
Kao
