Ok but do you use the Alt Tab shortcut? or Do you go, every time,
through the Overview?
I just ask the question because in my case. My left hands is never
close or ready to make a keyboard trick like Alt +Tab. I always hold
somethings like a Donut's, a paper, a Manuel, a piece of my computer
in my left hand.
Also, in many situation, the desk configuration puts the keyboard far
from you.
If you do a presentation, if you watch a movie on your video-projector,
or whatever your configurations.
I also prefer to not use the overview when I am working. I am French, I
have a little brain and when I enter in the overview, the desktop
animation distracts my thoughts, and I didn't remember why am I doing
here.
If by chance I remember I need to find the good application behind all
the open desktops. And When I finally found it, I really don't remember
what I have to do with it.
I think I am a fish.
It's the same problem with e-ink, some of the device need to display a
black page before the new one. With this little black flash your mind
is distracted and you loose the meaning of the text
"The refresh of an eInk page creates a black flash and can create
temporary "ghosting" effect which can be annoying to some people."

I have no doubt that we will find a good diplomatic solution with an
extension or a option to enable. But you have to understand that some
of us really need that.

is the main reason for me to switch from KDE to Gnome-Shell. I totally
agree with Tomasz. What I just expect is that this way of handling
applications will remain in the future.

I agree with Tomasz, Hernan, and Stephan. If I just want to quickly
switch to the app I just used, I alt-tab. Otherwise, I use the overview.
