I agree that the whole overlay feels like a whole different phase or mode, mostly because of the scaled instances of the windows, which I don't use. (As I have a lot of windows open that I navigate with a dock or ALT+TAB)

I know there is already a proposal like that somewhere on Brainstorm
or in Launchpad, but I could not find it when I searched for it (I
also wanted to bring this up).

Does anyone know where that went? I think they even had mockups.

i can imagine not breaking focus without seeing any mockups..
