clutter and zeitgeist dropped?

Hi all
I have read on OMG that zeitgeist and clutter is being dropped for Gnome 3.0? 
can anybody confirm?
and if so... what now? no compositing in gnome 3? no activity journal? what the heck is going on???
These are about the 2 most exciting things that were happening to Gnome... and now we are not getting it????

anybody got a link to any announcements by gnome of what the heck is going on or what the new plan is for gnome 3?
