I don't see the problem with top posting anyway - if you're not using a conversation based email client it helps to have the rest of the email chain included in the email for reference, but it's handy to have the most relevant bit at the top.  And it's the standard option in all the big email systems.

It's the lack of a standard that's the problem as I see it - some people posting at the top, others at the bottom.  That's why I don't mind bottom-posting in this mailing list, even though I think it's the less user-friendly option on its own.
