Opening multiple items & tips

Me again, sorry!

Can you open multiple items from the Actions menu?  Right now when you
drag an item to a workspace, that workspace opens up.

Would it be possible to do something like hold down ctrl and drag the
item to have it launched but keep you in the Actions menu?

PS.  And would it be possible to have tips to teach users about tricks
like this?  I like how most stuff is discoverable, but the more
advanced features are always going to be a bit more tricky.  Could you
have a tips icon appear in the panel area, or have a tip notification
pop up when certain activities are detected?

eg:
If you spot a user using the Actions menu twice in a row to launch two
programs, activate a tip that tells them they can use the ctrl key.

Or (once the window layout stuff has been thought through), if
somebody has opened two programs, and is sizing and placing them side
by side, pop up a tip telling them the quick way to layout windows.
