Ok, so I found out a solution to my problem: I needed to get myself in
the plugdev group and to restart dbus. Would it be possible for
gnome-power-manager to report such errors when in verbose mode?
Because without proper error reporting, I really couldn't have guessed
it, and I guess that problems of the same kind could happen to other
users.
