Problem:

I recently installed Fedora 8. For several days I did not change the
default installation configuration (which is, no suspend/sleep/hibernate
modes) and I had no problems with power management.

However two days ago I tried enabling power management via the Power
Management configuration window available under Screensaver
Preferences. It didn't work - the system wasn't able to wake up after
going to sleep.

No problem - I was just playing around, so I figured I'd just disable it
again. So I went back into the Power Management configuration window and
"Actions" and "Display" sliders to "Never" under the "On AC Power" tab.

Here's the problem: this didn't disable suspend/sleep/hibernate
mode. The system STILL goes into sleep mode, and since it cannot be
properly woken up, I must reboot the machine every few hours.

I know it's gnome-power-manager's fault because I have an entry in
/var/log/messages:

Dec 8 04:17:20 localhost gnome-power-manager: (freedarandy) Suspending computer because System idle

(freedarandy is my wife's account).

Help! I want to stop rebooting my wife's machine every 2 hours!
