Gnome-pilot for non-PalmOS devices

Hi all,

I've been looking into writing some software to sync my Motorola L6
contacts/calendar with Evolution.

Evolution already has integration with gnome-pilot, so one option is to
extend gnome-pilot to support my phone (actually, it should work with
any phone that supports the relevant ETSI GSM commands).

How do gnome-pilot users/developers feel about this suggestion?
