problems with Handsping Visor and gnome-pilot 2.0.10

I'm having issues getting my Visor to sync via USB. When I hit the
HotSync button, gnome-pilot recognizes the device and starts
transfering data. However, at some point the Visor loses the
connection, while gnome-pilot basically hangs. Any ideas of what might
be going wrong? It's losing the connection while it's trying to sync
the databook with Evolution 2.0.2.
