IRDA sync timeout

I recently updated my gpilotd to be able to use IRDA. I have the
following packages:
    pilot-link-0.9.5-0_helix_1
    gnome-pilot-devel-0.1.55-0_helix_1
    kpilot-3.1b9-4
    pilot-link-devel-0.9.5-0_helix_1
    gnome-pilot-0.1.55-0_helix_1
    gnome-pim-devel-1.2.0-0_helix_1
    gnome-pim-conduits-1.2.0-5_helix_3
    gnome-pim-1.2.0-5_helix_3
(and malsync from gnome-pilot-conduits via CVS)
- on my T20 Thinkpad with Redhat 6.2. I have an IBM Workpad with
PalmOS 3.50

When I try to synch using IR, the laptop sees the Palm, but gives a
timeout error (see log below). Synching via the cradle is fine.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Andrew
