We use libgtkhtml because GnuCash reports are generated into HTML and
displayed to the user using GtkHTML. We need libgnomeui because we
use Druids and DateEdit and a few other widgets.

Uh, sure it is -- at least at the gnome-1.4 level:
--> ldd /usr/athena/lib/libgtkhtml-1.1.so.3.0.4
libgal.so.23 => /usr/athena/lib/libgal.so.23 (0x400a0000)
...
It is in gnome-2 as well:
--> ldd /usr/athena/lib/libgtkhtml-3.0.so.2.1.1
libgnomeui-2.so.0 => /usr/athena/lib/libgnomeui-2.so.0 (0x4009e000)
...
libgal-2.0.so.5 => /usr/athena/lib/libgal-2.0.so.5 (0x40397000)
So you are confused.

Maybe -- let us finish gnucash-2.0 first before we start talking about
2.2. We're having enough problems with resources to get 2.0 out the
door. ;)
