Re: [gnome-love] ideas for gnome ghop tasks

Hi everyone,
I had a few ideas for new tasks for ghop.

1. Add ability to zip files directly from nautilus. This should be a menu item and an option in the right click menu.

2. Add os x style dnd "spring" feature to nautilus. (Folders "spring" open if you move over them and wait for a few seconds while dragging.)

3. Bring the gtk tutorial up to date.

4. Add support to Nautilus for gnustep apps. (This was suggested in #gnome-hackers a while back.)

5. Write a new app that downloads photos from flickr and slideshows them in the background. Perhaps this could integrate with the online desktop.

6. Give a presentation in your community introducing gnome. (This was inspired by the pyhon task.)

7. Document four or five undocumented widgets in the gtk tutorial.

Does anyone have any objections to a task along the lines of "add five new tasks..." I've seen these in several of the other projects, but I can understand why we might not want to do this one.

I understand that I wont be able to claim any of these tasks, but if someone could email me the relevant contacts for each of these, (e.g. the person who would have to approve each of these tasks and help out the student) then I don't mind writing them up.

There's a bugzilla bug on this
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=503806

It includes the framework to get everything to build and to install.
The manual just contains section headers. So somebody should still
write the manual as requested here.

Cheese has also has such a manual. So also their some GHOP love might
be appropriate
