Following Paolo's suggestion would mean that his program would no longer
be a standalone separate program but rather a *part* of another existing
program.  Obviously, the portion that he wrote of the new-and-improved
gnome-control-center would be his, but you couldn't call the whole thing
his (since many other people have already written lots of code for
gnome-control-center).  He would obviously get recognition for his
contributions, but he would lose some control since gnome-control-center
has another maintainer.  That's a choice that he's free to make, or he
can keep it as a separate program and maintain complete control
(although in that case it's less likely to make it into Gnome since it
wouldn't be integrated).  It's a tradeoff that Paolo was just letting
him know about.
