I filled a bug about this!
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=709036
2013/9/26 Βασίλης Τουμπακάρης <btoumbas gmail com>:
Yes I have openSUSE 12.3 installed with the stable 3.8 GS repository.
I didn't posted this in bugzilla because I didn't know what to write.

I used live USBs and booted them directly to the pc. After launching an
app the desktop stops the flicker. I only see this issue between hitting
activities button and choosing an app.
Do you have a locally installed version of gnome to compare performance
with?
If you're seeing the same issue with different live distros, you might try
filing a bug against gnome-shell.
Also, gnome-list is a pretty low-traffic list, and not great for
troubleshooting issues like this.

Yeah, you are right but I don't know very much. I know that the screen
is flickering whether I move my cursor. I think it's nouveau's problem.
Can't help you there - all my machines are running amd graphics chips.
Are you booting into the live cds directly or in a virtual machine?
The first screenshot is from openSUSE factory and the second from
Ubuntu Gnome.Also in the second screenshot I couldn't even see the list of
the apps.
Even after clicking on the app button on the dock?

It's hard to tell from your screenshots what behavior you are
expecting that is not occurring, other than there being no background. Can
you provide a little more information?

Hi, I have this issue with every gnome live usb. For example [1],
[2].
My coputer has these specs.
Intel Core2 CPU 6300 1.86GHz || RAM 2001 MiB || ASUS INC. P5B-VM
nVidia G73 [GeForce 7300 GT] [10de:0393] {nvidia}
What causes this behavior? Is that solved? Thanks in advance.
