Problem with evince

Hi, everyone,
For the last couple of days I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to
get my evince 2.20.2 open *.dvi files. I have x-dvi and x-dvi.xml in
/applications/ directory, but evince still produces "unhandled MIME
type: x-dvi"... any ideas?
