Weird MPEG problems.

Could someone - anyone verify this.
I don't want to write a bug report if its only on my machine.

When i use gtv to play mpeg's in kde it works fine.
When i use gtv to play mpeg's in GNOME it gives me a green & scratchy
video w/ the audio coming through.
This is also the case with vlc
Any ideas would be appreciated.
