Load Applet from Command Line

Is it possible to load a 'PanelApplet' type of Applet from the command
line?  Please note this is different from an 'Application' Applet, such
as 'Clock & Mailcheck' which can be loaded at the command line with:

clockmail_applet --activate-goad-server=clockmail_applet

I'm wondering whether I can load something like MailCheck from the
command line which is listed on the Gnome Applet Menu with a GOAD_ID
(gen_util_mailcheck) rather than a direct Command Line call.
