gdm - server crash - more info

I am running RedHat 7.0 linux 2.2.16-22 one HP Vectra VL with Intel P
200.

When I allow gdm to start from /etc/inittab it crash and I get following
log:

Fatal server error:
Server is already active for display 0
        If this server is no longer running, remove /tmp/.X0-lock
        and start again.


When reporting a problem related to a server crash, please send
the full server output, not just the last messages

If I instead start gdm manualy with the command /usr/bin/gdm -nodaemon,
I get following log:
