Thank you for your answer. I have got a new hope :) Currently I am trying
to recompile all the gnome on solaris 7 (then will try to run what I get on
solaris 8) so I will try your suggestion if I fail. Just out of curiosity,
what is XIM and what will I lose if I compile without it? It seems to be
something that deals with internationalization. Does it mean I will be able
to enter only ascii in gtk widgets?
