You can configure a .pol file that forces roaming profiles into the
reg. of all the workstations. The only hastle is making the .pol file
(only about 10mins). You can also have different .pol for each group of
people. (I'm sure you already know that). Giving different acces rights

That's exactly my point. I work for a bank with 3000+ employees.
Making .pol files for everyone? The sysadmins will throw a
fit....And not every user is savvy enough to do that themselves.
Also, in order to implement this you'd have to create an extra file,
as opposed to th Unix Way(tm) of just giving each user a home
directory and storing settings there, which just proves that NT is
still locked into the Microsoft mindset of totally independent
desktop PCs, instead of properly networked workstations.
Ah well....I'll just have to live with dumb management decisions, or
get some certifications and start looking for a new job.....
In th meantime we're wandering Off-Topic, so I suggest we take
this off-list if we want to talk about this further.
