This is one of the main reasons I've stuck with Enlightenment as my WM on
Solaris. It understands and correctly handles multiple heads no problem.
Raster and Mandrake both have mutliple heads on their Linux boxes too, now.

The best I can get with Gnome is have identical panels on each screen. But
since I upgraded to Gnome 1.2, it's done something wierd to Imlib, so that
Enlightenment window frames get corrupted. So now I don't even use the panels -
I just use E's menu to access Gnome applications as and when.

Your other option, if your 2 heads are of similar quality, is to upgrade your
Solaris to a late 7 or 8, and use Xinerama to make both screens one desktop.
Then you've solved all of this.

But if you have one 24-bit and one 8-bit, you end up with one large 8-bit
desktop, which is why I still don't use it (I have 2 PGX-8s and an Elite3D) =O{

For further help with Xinerama and X setup on Solaris, go to

Good luck,
